The Westchester Craft Show celebrates its fifteenth anniversary as 115 outstanding artists present a rich diversity of craft including basketry, ceramics, glass, furniture, jewelry, leather, metal, and more. Meeting at the Westchester County Center, this show is a leader among contemporary American craft shows.
Knowledgeable collectors and discriminating shoppers will appreciate the high quality and original design of outstanding artists from all over the United Sates. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet important artists and select from a significant body of their newest work.
Special lectures will be held on Friday, October 17th. Furniture maker Scott Grove will speak on “Elements of Design and Structure: Insights on Sculptural Furniture Construction.” He will discuss contemporary furniture design and the materials and techniques he uses in the creation of his unique sculptural furniture.
Judith S. Schwartz, Ph.D., Professor, Department of Art and Art Professions at New York University will be the moderator of a panel discussion “Contemporary Ceramic Artists Explore Their Diverse Cultural Influences.” Three ceramic artists will draw on their cultural identities and explore how these differences have influenced their approach to their medium and their working styles.
Westchester Craft Show 2008 will be held October 17-19, 2008 at the Westchester County Center, 198 Central Avenue, White Plains, NY 10606.
